Emporia, Kan. - On Thursday, the Missouri Southern track & field teams sent throwers and men's high jump to the ESU Relays, hosted by Emporia State. Of the nine events participated in, the Lions brought home six 1st place finishes. They had six more athletes with 2nd and 3rd place finishes. 

Tomorrow, the Lions will have a group competing at the WashU Distance Carnival, and a good chunk will head to Bolivar, Missouri on Saturday to compete at the SBU Bearcat Invitational. 

Meet Results:
Discus

• Peyton Barton secured a victory in the event, recording an NCAA qualifying throw of 53.64m. Gabe Ford finished 5th with a toss of 50.26m, and Cedric Pearson threw a distance of 48.29m which placed him 7th. 
• Briar Gillum took 7th with a throw of 42.24m. Aubrey Skinner placed 11th with a toss of 39.60m, and Mallory Huber recorded a throw of 34.54m which was good for 23rd. 

Hammer Throw

• Briar Gillum took 1st in the event again, winning it last week as well. She recorded an NCAA qualifying throw of 56.05m, just shy of her personal best. Mallory Huber finished 2nd, throwing a distance of 51.88m. Kirsten Womack recorded a throw of 47.11m to place her 8th, and Aubrey Skinner finished 22nd with a toss of 37.31m. 
• Peyton Barton recorded a personal record and 2nd best mark in MSSU history, taking 1st in the event with an NCAA qualifying throw of 66.31m. Gabe Ford took 4th with a toss of 54.80m. 

High Jump

• Luke Brumit recorded a new personal record, winning the event with an NCAA qualifying jump of 2.07m. That places him 8th on the MSSU outdoor top-10 list. Brendan Jewell placed 8th after clearing the 1.94m mark. 

Javelin

• Brendan Rozier won the event for the second straight week, upping his season best with an NCAA qualifying throw of 66.87m. Garrett Strange also hit an NCAA qualifying mark, taking 3rd with a toss of 62.81m. Clifton Bridegwater placed 6th at 56.21m, and Ethan Dias recorded a throw of 52.22m for 10th. 
• Adrianne Casey and Mackenzie Mayer took 2nd and 3rd respectively, recording throws of 41.31m and 40.67m. Those distances place them 9th and 10th on the MSSU top-10 list. Susan Moman finished 6th with a throw of 39.91m. 

Shot Put

• Briar Gillum won the event once again, improving her personal best and throwing an NCAA qualifying mark of 15.04m. Kirsten Womack took 11th, throwing a distance of 12.09m. 
• Cedric Pearson and Gabe Ford took 2nd and 3rd in the event, both throwing NCAA qualifying marks. Pearson's throw went a distance of 17.84m and Ford recorded a mark of 17.09m.
