Three Lions Named to CSC Women's Basketball Academic All-District Team

Joplin, Mo. – The Missouri Southern women's basketball team placed three individuals on the College Sports Communicators Academic All-District Team as the organization announced the award on Tuesday. Honorees are selected by College Sports Communicators, recognizing the nation's top student-athletes for their combined performances on the court and in the classroom.
 
To be nominated for this award, a student-athlete must be considered one of the most outstanding at their institution, based on the following criteria - at least a 3.50 cumulative grade point average, participated in at least 90 percent OR started in at least 66 percent of the team's games, and has attained at least sophomore academic status.
 
Kaitlin Hunnicutt, Mira Khan, and Morgan Meyers all earned honors for the Lions. Hunnicutt currently posts a 3.67 GPA with majors in Mass Communications and Public Relations, Khan boasts 3.98 GPA in Criminal Justice and Psychology, and Meyers is majoring in Elementary Education with a 4.0 GPA.
 
All-District honorees were considered for advancement to the CSC Academic All-America ballot, of which Hunnicutt was advanced to.
