Volleyball Stopped by Arkansas Fort Smith Lions

Joplin, Mo. – The Missouri Southern women's volleyball team took on the University of Arkansas Fort Smith Lions. The Lions were defeated by the Lions, 3-0. Moving to an overall record of 2-13 and 0-4 in the MIAA.

Set 1: Missouri Southern 21 | Arkansas Fort Smith 25

The Lions started the match strong in the first set, battling point-for-point with UAFS. And taking the lead early with a four-point jump, with two kills from Anny Montano (5-2). Arkansas Fort Sith would take a run and lead by four (18-14), and a Montano kill would break the run. The Lions would follow to close their deficit to two points (19-16), and Amelia Neels would contribute with a kill and a block. UAFS would take set one.
 
Set 2: Missouri Southern 11 | Arkansas Fort Smith 25
Kyra Thomas would open the scoring for the Lions with a kill from Landrey VanOerschelde. Missouri Southern would see points from Anny Montano (block and three kills), Amelia Neels black and two kills), Kyra Thomas (kill) and Merancio Fernanda (kill).
 
Set 3: Missouri Southern 13 | Arkansas Fort Smith 25
UAFS opened the set in the lead, and a Kyra Thomas kill, would break their first run, 5-1. Arkansas Fort Smith pushed a second run and would-be split by Amelia Neels with her own kill. Anny Montano would start a four-point rally, with kills from Neels and Kristyn Loyd. UAFS held their lead for the set.
