Joplin, Mo. – The Missouri Southern women's volleyball team hosted the Washburn University Ichabods. The Lions were defeated by the Ichabods, 3-2. Moving to an overall record of 3-16 and 1-7 in the MIAA.
Game 1: Missouri Southern (3-16,1-7) vs. Washburn (14-4,5-3)
Set 1: Missouri Southern 25 | Washburn 15
Alana Moesch would take the match's first point with a kill from
Mataiya Barber. Both teams would trade points. A block by
Amelia Neels and
Josey Goldberg would start a Loins 8-4-point rally (12-8);
Fernanda Merancio,
Kyra Thomas, and
Addysen Alvis would also contribute. Alvis would kill and push a Missouri Southern run to add to their lead with an 8-0 point jump from

Josey Goldberg (block) contributed. Late in the set, the Ichabods rallied to take the lead and the set.
Set 4: Missouri Southern 25 | Washburn 20
Washburn led early with a 6-3 score. Missouri Southern retaliated with a six-point rally, started from a
Fernanda Merancio kill, followed by
Amelia Neels and
Alana Moesch with their own kills. Within the rally, the Lions had Neels (three blocks),
Josey Goldberg (two blocks), and Moesch (one block) contribute critical blocks (9-7). The Lions held their advantage and took the fourth set, sending the match to its fifth set.
Set 5: Missouri Southern 8 | Washburn 15
Both teams opened competitively, trading the lead. Missouri Southern would have points from
