Joplin, Mo. – The Missouri Southern football team hosted the No. 17 Emporia State University Hornets. The Lions were defeated by the Hornets, 49-30 and moved to 1-6 on the season and 0-5 in the MIAA.

Peyton McKee also came up with a crucial sack, dropping Emporia's quarterback for a 2-yard loss. Missouri Southern held Emporia and forced a turnover at the Missouri Southern 28-yard line with blocks from
