Mieszkowski & Woods Named D2CCA All-Americans

Marshall, Minn. - The Missouri Southern baseball program had two student-athletes named onto the D2CCA All-American teams as announced by the organization on Thursday, June 1st.

Earning second-team honors was Nate Mieszkowski at second base with Cole Woods being an honorable mention selection as a starting pitcher. For the Lions, Mieszkowski is the first position player to be named an All-American since Freddie Landers in 2019 was an honorable mention third basemen by the NCBWA and Woods is the first pitcher since Zach Parish in 2021 was named a consensus Pitcher of the Year and first-team starting pitcher by the ABCA, D2CCA and NCBWA.

Mieszkowski finished with a .374/.455/.634 slash line for a 1.089 OPs with a program records 265 at-bats, 81 runs scored and 99 hits while chipping in with 19 doubles, four triples, 14 home runs, 66 RBIs, 34 walks drawn, 11 stolen bases, 138 assists, 95 putouts and helped turn 33 double plays. This season, Mieszkowski has been named a consensus first-team All-Region selection at second base from the ABCA, D2CCA and NCBWA, a first-team All-MIAA and MIAA All-Tournament team selection at second base along with becoming the first Lion in program history to be named the NCBWA National Hitter of the Week.

Woods finished the season with a 10-3 record, 3.71 ERA, 1.13 WHIP, 9.9 K/9 and 2.3 BB/9 from a program record 17 starts. A senior from Claremore, Okla. the right hander pitched 99.1 innings with 109 strikeouts and opponents hitting .236 against him. This season, Woods has been named the NCBWA Pitcher of the Year, a consensus first-team All-Region pitcher by the ABCA, D2CCA and NCBWA along with being a first-team All-MIAA starting pitcher, twice was named the MIAA Pitcher of the Week and was an NCBWA Regional Pitcher of the Week as well.
