Indianapolis, Ind. - The 11th ranked Missouri Southern baseball program was announced as the second seed in the Central Region to host their first regional since 1992. This will be the programs third time in program history to host an NCAA Regional and the ninth time overall to make an appearance in the regional tournament.
The Lions (42-15) will host Arkansas Tech (32-20) to begin the regional tournament for both teams at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday, May 18th as the Wonder Boys are making their third regional in the last ten years and for Southern this will be the fourth regional in ten years. Southern Arkansas (39-16) the third seed and Minnesota State - Mankato (39-15) the sixth seed will fill out the regional and begin the action on Thursday at 2:00 p.m. with the Muleriders winning the GAC Tournament for the seventh time in their history for an automatic bid into the regional and the Mavericks making their 40th NCAA tournament appearance in program history.
