Kansas City, Mo. - Missouri Southern senior pitcher Bailey Lacy was announced as the MIAA Pitcher of the Week by the conference office on Monday Apr. 3rd.

Lacy struck out a MSSU record 15 batters against Nebraska - Kearney and recorded back-to-back complete game shutout victories on the road as the Lions swept the Lopers and Fort Hays State to remain in first place in the conference standings. For the week Lacy went 2-0 with a 0.00 ERA from 14.0 innings while striking out 23 (eight looking) and opponents hitting .160 with no extra base hits surrendered. Against the UNK she recorded two strikeouts in each inning except the second where she struck out the side for 15 strikeouts with only three hits given up and two walks issued. In a return to her hometown she struck out eight Tigers and issued only one walk in her third straight complete game shutout of the season. For the season the right hander from Hays, Kan. is 8-0 with two saves while striking out 71 from 67.1 innings and has a 1.98 ERA.

Southern will only play in one conference series this week with a home double header against rival Pittsburg State set for Saturday Apr. 8th from the Pat Lipira Softball Complex with first pitch set for 2:00pm.
