Lions Finish 4th At Holiday Inn Express Classic, Nunez 9th

St. Joseph, Mo. - The Missouri Southern women's golf program wrapped up the Holiday Inn Express Classic with one of their better rounds in program history on Tuesday Mar. 28th from the St. Joseph Country Club to finish fourth.

The Lions as a team shot 309 for the round the second lowest round score in program history just trailing the 307 they shot to end the Lady Panther invite on Sep. 20th. Leading the charge for the Lions was Aida Nunez with her second 77-round score of the tournament for 154 strokes to finish tied for ninth, for the weekend she had three birdies and 20 pars while on par threes averaged 3.17 strokes.

Julianna Washka had a 74-round score for the day to have 157 for the tournament to finish tied for 12th with a birdie and 24 pars while on par fours averaging 4.08 strokes. Lily Allman had a 75-round score for 159 strokes to finish 18th with four birdies and 17 pars while on par threes averaged 3.33 strokes.

Iratxe Fernandez-Cano Aldasoro had a 84-round score for the day to have 163 to finish tied for 19th with three birdies and 16 pars while on par fives averaged 5.42 strokes. Mia Scrimgeour had a 83-round score for the day to have 164 to finish tied for 21st with two birdies and 16 pars while on par fives averaged 5.08 strokes.

Taking home the individual title was Morgan Brasser from Fort Hays State with a 144 tournament score with round scores of 74 and 70. Finishing in first as a team were hosts Missouri Western with 604 strokes having 302 both days.

Up next for the Lions will be the Dr. Virginia Laas Classic in Joplin at the Eagle Creek Golf Course on Monday Apr. 10th and Tuesday Apr. 11th in the last tournament before the MIAA Championships hosted at Eagle Creek from Apr. 24th - Apr. 26th.
