Four Lions Named All-MIAA

Kansas City, Mo. – The Missouri Southern men's basketball program had four named All-MIAA as announced by the league today.
 
Being named All-MIAA this season was Avery Taggart, Christian Bundy, Vinson Sigmon Jr. and Winston Dessesow. This was the first time being named All-MIAA for Bundy, Sigmon Jr. and Dessesow in their careers as Taggart was an All-MIAA performer last year.
 
This season Taggart averaged 11.9 points, 3.6 rebounds, 3.3 assists and 1.9 made threes per game while shooting 55-of-163 from deep and was 53-of-63 from free throws for 84.1 percent. The redshirt sophomore guard from Eureka, Mo. ranks eighth in the MIAA in assists, ninth in assist-turnover ratio and assists per game and 16th for three pointers made.
 
Bundy averaged 9.1 points, 6.6 rebounds, 2.4 offensive rebounds per game, 1.4 assists and 1.0 steals per game while shooting 50.6 percent from the field. The redshirt senior forward from Nixa, Mo. was second in the MIAA in offensive rebounds per game, sixth in rebounds and rebounds per game this season. Bundy has played in a program record 127 career games, has the ninth most blocks and is 13th in career rebounds.
 
Sigmon Jr. averaged 12.1 points, 4.1 rebounds, 2.4 assists, 1.4 steals and 1.3 threes per game while shooting 45.5 percent from the field. The junior guard from Detroit, Mich. is eighth in the MIAA in steals and steals per game, 18th in field goal percentage among qualified shooters and 26th in three pointers made.
 
Dessesow averaged 12.1 points, 2.7 rebounds, 2.7 made threes and 2.1 assists per game while shooting 40.0 percent from three going 72-of-180. The junior guard from Baltimore, Md. Is third in the MIAA for three pointers made, fifth in three pointer percentage and three pointers made per game. Among program history ranks sixth in three pointers made, three pointers attempted and is 25 points away from becoming the 26th Lion in program history to score 1,000 career points.
 
The Lions will be in action tomorrow against Northeastern State at 2:15pm to begin the MIAA Tournament inside historic Municipal Auditorium.
