Signing Day Adds Four New Lions to Softball

Joplin, Mo. – Missouri Southern softball coach Hallie Blackney has announced the signing of four recruits to start the 2024 signing period. Two Mounties from Rogers, Arkansas and two Eagles, one from Missouri and another from Kansas, will become Lions in 2025.

Listed below are the four incoming players bios

Ashlyn Hulett
Rogers, Ark.

Hulett prepped at Rogers High School where she was coached by Tori Stafford. While a Mountie, Hulett for her career hit .312 with 46 RBIs in three seasons.

Hulett was an All-Conference selection her junior year at Rogers High School, as well as a three-time state qualifier. She is a three-time letter winner for both softball, at center field, and track and field, at high jump, as a Mountie.

Ashylyn is the daughter of Abbey and Michael Hulett and plans to major in kinesiology during her time at Southern.

Kadence Janney
Rogers, Ark.

Janney prepped at Rogers High School where she was coached by Tori Stafford. As a Mountie, Janney for her career batted .270, scoring 35 runs, and hitting three home runs. Defensively, she pitched 83 innings for the Mounties, where she recorded 124 strikeouts, averaged a 1.35 ERA, and had a perfect record of 15 wins and zero losses.

Janney is a two-time All-Conference selection at infielder, as well as the Newcomer of the Year her freshman year. Janney assisted the Mounties in qualifying for three straight State Tournaments. She is a three-time softball letter winner at Rogers High School at pitcher/infielder.

Kadence is the daughter of Stephanie and Eric Janney and plans to major in radiology technology and/or psychology during her time at Southern.

Bailey Jona Dillon
Lenexa, Kan.

Dillon prepped at Olathe North High School where she was coached by Bree Ederer. While an Eagle, Dillon for her career batted .476, scoring 108 runs, 116 hits, 4 homeruns, stealing 54 bases and had an on base percentage of .543.

Dillon was named to the first team All-State her freshman and sophomore year, as well as second team All-State her junior year. She is also a two-time All-Conference selection in the Sunflower League. Dillon helped the Eagles to three straight regional championships, as well as state runner-up her freshman year. Dillon is a three-time softball letter winner at Olathe North High School for both softball, at outfielder/middle-infielder, and basketball, at shooting guard. Academically, Dillion has been placed on the honor roll all three years.

Bailey is the daughter of Miranda and Stan Dillon and plans to major in exercise science during her time at Southern. 

Easton Walter
Grain Valley, Mo.

Walter prepped at Grain Valley High School where she was coached by Flip Courter. While an Eagle, Walter for her career batted .354 while having a .447 on base percentage. 

Walter was named to the first team All-Conference, as well as selected for All-District, her senior year. She is a two-time softball letter winner at Grain Valley High School at catcher/third-base. Academically, Walter is a two-time Academic All-State selection.

Easton is the daughter of Erin and Cory Walter and plans to major in pre-med during her time at Southern.
