Joplin, Mo. - The Lions completed a two game home-stand on Sunday, October 8th, hosting Rogers State in a match that ended in favor of the Hillcats, 2-1.
After the Hillcats started things off with a quick goal,
Maya Greenquist tied the score at 1-1 in the 12th minute with a goal off the left post from the assist of
Sofia Fatino.
Sofia Fatino kept the pressure on the Hillcats with a shot on goal in the 23rd minute, but was saved by the Hillcats' goalkeeper, going into half with a tied score of 1-1.
The Hillcats struck first in the second half with a goal from a penalty kick that gave Rogers State a 2-1 lead in the 69th minute,

Cathy Ray and
Jori Hays all had a shot on goal late in the second half, but all were saved by the Hillcat defense, giving Rogers State the 2-1 victory.
The Lions move to 0-10-2 (0-4-1 MIAA) on the season and travel to Topeka, Kansas on Friday, October 13th to take on Washburn at 6:00 PM.
