Joplin, Mo. - For the second time this season, the Lion volleyball team took down the Pittsburg State Gorillas. In their second meeting of the year, on Southern's home court, MSSU defeated PSU 3-1 to improve to 13-12 (6-10 MIAA) on the year.
Pittsburg State jumped out to a hot start and claimed the first set 25-13. They held onto that momentum into the first part of the second set, but Southern bounced back and evened the score with a 25-22 win. The middle of the third set was taken over by MSSU with a 10-1 run, eventually winning the set 25-17. Filled with stretches by both teams, the Lions claimed the fourth set 25-18, and the match 3-1.
