Joplin, Mo. - The Women's Soccer team began a three-game home-stand Friday afternoon, taking on Fort Hays State at Hal Bodon Field.
Dallie Hill,
Lariah Boone, and
Mia Barkyoumb all had a shot on goal between the 38th and 40th minute, but all were saved by the Tiger defense.
The Lions defense held strong the first half, only allowing two shots from the Tigers and remaining tied at the half, 0-0.
After an early second-half goal from the Tigers,
Lariah Boone took a shot that missed high in the 61st minute.
After much back-and-forth play, neither team was able to add to the score which ended the match at 1-0 in favor of Fort Hays State.
The loss drops MSSU to 0-13-2 (0-7-1 MIAA) on the season. The Lions will play their second match of a three-game home-stand on Sunday, October 22nd at 12:00 PM against Nebraska-Kearney at Hal Bodon Field for Senior Day.
