Lions Homer Twice At NSU

Tahlequah, Okla. – The Missouri Southern baseball team got homers from Nate Mieszkowski and Matt Miller, but the Lions fell 14-4 in seven innings at Northeastern State.
 
Southern (25-18, 15-13 MIAA) got a 3-for-4 day at the plate from Miller as he had a homer, three RBIs and a run scored. Mieszkowski was 2-for-4 with a home run, while Clay Milas was 2-for-2. Drew Davis had a hit and a run scored, while Ryan Doran scored a run, as well.
 
Laif Hultine started and went two innings. Cale McCallister, Ryan Paschal, Scott Duensing, Jacob Davis and Chase Beiter threw in relief.
 
NSU (30-13, 18-10 MIAA) had four home runs in the game led by Brock Reller who had a pair.
 
The RiverHawks scored a run in the first and five in the third to lead 6-0 after three.
 
Southern got a run on the board in the top of the third on Mieszkowski's homer, but NSU answered back with three more in the bottom half of the inning.
 
Five more runs scored in the sixth for NSU before Miller's three-run bomb in the seventh.
 
The two teams will be back in action tomorrow afternoon with a 2 pm first-pitch from Rousey Field.
