Joplin, Mo. – The softball game tomorrow against William Jewell April 19 has been canceled due to Covid-19 protocols within the program.
 
The game will not be made up and the rest of the week's schedule is currently unaffected for this weekend.
 
The schools made this decision with the health and safety of the student-athletes, coaches and staff, as well as the broader community being of the utmost importance.
 
Southern is scheduled to be back in action on Friday, April 22nd in Maryville against Northwest Missouri to begin the final road weekend of the MIAA schedule. The Lions will finish the week on Saturday against Missouri Western in St. Joseph before heading into the final week of regular season play at home.
