PSU (6-7 (2-1 MIAA) got two hits from Jordan Maxon as the Lions' pitchers held the Gorillas to just five hits in the game.

Southern got the scoring started in the first when Fitzpatrick was hit by a pitch with the bases juiced to score Milas. Kusiak then singled up the middle to score Stevenson and Doran.

Pitt added a run in each of the third and fourth innings to get within one (3-2), but the Lions exploded with four runs in the fifth and seven in the sixth.

Doran scored in the fifth to start the barrage and Miller hit the first of his two three-run bombs to conclude the scoring in the inning.

The sixth saw the Lions plate seven starting with a two-RBI triple from Kusiak to score Mila sans Stevenson. Parker singled home Kusiak and Mieszkowski doubled down the right field line to put runners at the corners for Miller. Miller then deposited the ball well over the wall in right for his second longball of the game. Stevenson added an RBI double in the inning, as well.

The Lions will be back in action tomorrow as Southern travels to East Central to take on the Tigers for a single non-conference game. First pitch is set for 1 pm.
