Campbell Wins 2nd Title - Women 7th, Men 8th At NCAA Championships

Allendale, Mich. – Rajindra Campbell won his second National Championship of the meet and the Missouri Southern track and field programs picked up a pair of top-ten team finishes as the Lions competed at the NCAA Division II Outdoor Track and Field Championships hosted by Grand Valley State University.

The Southern women finished seventh with 34 points, while the men were eighth in the team standings with 33 points.

Campbell followed up a National Championship in the discus yesterday with his second Title today, this time in the shot put. The senior from Jamaica launched a throw of 19.99m (65-07.00) in his third toss that stuck and won him the title. The throw was nearly three feet in front of his nearest competitor and broke his own school record that he had set two weeks ago at UNK.

Adrain Broadus picked up the Lions' second All-American performance of the day as he placed fourth in the triple jump. Broadus leaped to a distance of 15.52m (50-11.00) on his fourth attempt to secure the finish. The jump is the fifth-longest in MSSU history, just a few inches off his personal best.

The Lions had a pair of All-American finishes in the women's javelin as Katelyn Mooney was the National Runner-Up, finishing second with a toss of 47.88m (157-01). Elizabeth Pomatto was fourth in the event to earn All-American honors with a distance of 46.76m (153-05).

Rajheim Carby and Logan Bell both earned All-American honors in the men's javelin as Carby was sixth with a throw of 66.31m (217-06) and Bell finished eighth with a distance of 64.91m (212-11).

Payton Roberts picked up All-American honors in the women's shot put as she finished eighth with a throw of 14.97m (49-01.50).

Jasmine Deckard secured the Lions' final two All-American finishes of the meet as she placed fifth in the 100m with a time of 11.98 and sixth in the 200m in a time of 23.58. The time in the 200m broke Deckard's own school record in the event that she set earlier in the season.
