Joplin, Mo. – The Missouri Southern softball program wraps up the regular season tomorrow and Saturday playing host to Northwest Missouri and Missouri Western inside the Pat Lipira Softball Complex.
First pitch tomorrow is at 2 pm, while Saturday's first pitch is set for 12 pm (noon). Saturday will also be senior day with the ceremony to be held after the conclusion of the second game as the Lions will honor
Makaila Leonhart and
Lynnlee Parrott.
The Lions (24-13-1, 15-6-1 MIAA) are third in the MIAA and rank as team first in the MIAA in double plays turned (17), double plays turned per game (0.45), stolen bases (89), stolen bases per game (2.34), triples (17), triples per game (0.45) and sacrifice bunts (26). Rank fifth in batting average (.300) with six batters hitting above .300, on-base percentage (0.369) and scoring averaging 5.16 runs per game. Nationally the Lions are fourth in Division II in triples, sixth in double plays turned, 12
th for stolen bases and triples per game, 15
th in double plays turned per game, and 18
th in stolen bases per game.
Leading the charge is
Josie Tofpi with a .400 batting average (4
th in MIAA), 48 hits (4
th in MIAA), 11 doubles (T-5
th in MIAA), three home runs, 30 RBIs, a .600 slugging percentage, .451 on-base percentage, 5-5 in stolen bases, and 84 assists (3
rd in MIAA).
Kara Amos has a .348 batting average with four home runs and 23 RBIs, slugging .511 and has a .464 on-base percentage (6
th in MIAA).
Leighton Withers has a .347 batting average with six doubles, three home runs and 27 RBIs, slugging .547.
Yazmin Vargas is hitting .331 scoring 30 runs (T-8
th in MIAA), 43 hits, while leading the MIAA in stolen bases going 29-31 one stolen base shy of being in a four-way tie for the Division II lead and has 77 putouts in the outfield.
Adrianna Young has a .325 batting average and is 13-16 in stolen bases tied for ninth in the MIAA. Leonhart has a .308 batting average with nine doubles and is 12-14 in stolen bases.
Ashlynn Williams hitting .281 has nine doubles and is tied with
Sidnie Hurst for the team lead in triples with three (T-3
rd in MIAA), Hurst is also 10-11 in stolen bases.

Abby Atkin is 9-5 with a 2.63 ERA (9
th in MIAA) in 24 appearances pitching 95.2 innings while striking out 38 and limiting opposing batters to a .266 batting average. Amos is 7-5 with a 2.94 ERA in 19 appearances pitching 64.1 innings, striking out 45 and limiting opposing batters to a .262 batting average, is 14
th in MIAA in WHIP with 1.38.
Bailey Lacy is 8-2 with a 3.48 ERA in 19 appearances pitching 68.1 innings, striking out a team-high 70 (10
th in MIAA) while limiting opposing batters to a .262 batting average. Lacy ranks in the MIAA third in strikeouts per seven innings (7.2), seventh in strikeout-to-walk ratio (3.33), and 13
th in WHIP at 1.35.
The Bearcats (16-18, 10-12 MIAA) are eighth in the MIAA and have a 3-8 record on the road this season. Led by Kaitlyn Weis with a .414 batting average, 12 home runs, 41 RBIs, a .879 slugging percentage, and a .500 on-base percentage. Olivia Daugherty has a .357 to go with ten doubles and home runs and 33 RBIs.
In the Circle for Northwest, Breck Dickey is 6-8 with a 4.45 ERA in 19 appearances, pitching 91.1 innings striking out 68, as opposing batters have a .309 batting average. Raven Defrain is 4-5 with a 5.00 ERA in 17 appearances, pitching 56 innings striking out 16, as opposing batters have a .333 batting average.
The Griffons (25-15, 14-8 MIAA) are sixth in the MIAA and have a 6-6 record on the road this season. Leading the MIAA in batting average is Sydni Hawkins with a .528, a .574 on-base percentage, 49 runs scored, 68 hits, while being third in the MIAA with a .817 slugging percentage, tied for fifth with 11 doubles and is third in stolen bases going 19-20, adding seven home runs and 21 RBIs. Emma Hoffart has a .393 batting average with nine doubles, four home runs and a team-high 34 RBIs while going 12-12 in stolen bases.
