Joplin, Mo. -- The Missouri Southern volleyball team swept Central Oklahoma three sets to none tonight inside Young Gymnasium. Individual set scores were 25-20, 25-17 and 25-23. 

The Lions (5-8, 4-2 MIAA) were led by Janelle Brehm as the senior had 15 kills and 19 digs in the match. Sophie Mader had 34 assists and nine digs, while knocking down four kills with an attack average of .444. CC Pollard had 11 kills, while Abbie Casper had 12 digs. Kierson Maydew and Alyssa Diaz had seven and six blocks, respectively while the team had 11 total blocks. 

UCO (10-5, 4-1 MIAA) was led by Mallory Hendrix with eight kills. 

The Lions dominated the first two sets with just two tied scores in the first set and leading throughout. The second set was all Southern as the Lions led from start to finish. 

The third set was back and forth with eight tied scored, but the Lions took the lead mid-way through the set and held on to complete the sweep. 

The Lions will be back in action tomorrow afternoon as Southern plays host to Newman. First-serve is set for 2 pm.
