Joplin, Mo. -- The Missouri Southern men's and women's track and field teams will be back in action this weekend as the Lions will travel to Pittsburg State for the Wendy's/PSU MIAA Challenge inside the Robert W. Plaster Center.
Both teams are coming off a successful meet at Central Missouri last weekend that saw three NCAA Provisional Qualifying Marks on the men's side and five individual event wins overall with the two squads.
Claire Luallen (long jump),
Peyton Barton (weight throw),
Cameron Linville (60m),
Chardae Overstreet (400m) and
Brieon Randle (400m) all picked up wins last weekend.
On the women's side Overstreet ranks fourth nationally in the 400m, while
LaNea Wallace is seventh. Luallen and
Precious Olatunji rank 10th and 11th in the 60m hurdles. On the men's side,
Ryan Riddle ranks ninth in the 3k, while
Mason York is seventh in the pole vault.
Adrain Broadus and
Taris Jackson rank ninth and 12th in the triple jump, while Barton is 15th in the weight throw.
Field events start at noon with the men's weight throw, women's long jump and men's high jump. Track events begin at 2 pm with the prelims of the 60m hurdles. Links to live video and live results can be found in the story links above.
