Ashton Manwill gave the Missouri Southern soccer team a 1-0 lead with six minutes to play in the first period, but the Northwest Missouri State Bearcats answered back with three goals toward a 3-1 win inside Fred G. Hughes Stadium Friday night.
The Lions (1-6) outshot the Bearcats 8-5 in the first period as sophomore forward
Bailey Belcher led the squad with five shots while junior midfielder
Meredith Belrose and Manwill each recorded two.

Riley Laver made six saves on 14 total shots faced in the match.
NWMSU's (2-4-1) Teagan Blackburn netted all three goals for the Bearcats for the hattrick in the win.
Missouri Southern hosts Missouri Western on Sunday at 1:00 pm to begin MIAA play.
