Joplin, Mo. -- Missouri Southern junior Calem Nutting hit a walk-off home run in the bottom of the ninth as the Lions completed the sweep of Washburn, winning 3-2 today on Warren Turner Field.

The Lions (15-5, 7-2 MIAA) got a strong start from Will Bausinger on the hill as the junior went eight innings, striking out 12 and walking just 1, while allowing only 2 hits and two unearned runs. Bradly Hershey threw a perfect ninth, striking out a runner to move his record to 4-0 on the season with the win.

Nutting went 3-for-4 in the game with a home run, two runs scored and an RBI. Davin Gummere and Dexter Swims had two hits each, while Denver Coffee added a hit and Dan Lenz drove in a run. Freddie Landers scored a run and had a walk.
