Lions Fall to Central Oklahoma to Close out Non-Conference Play

Joplin, Mo. – The Missouri Southern women's soccer team dropped its non-conference finale against Central Oklahoma by a final score of 2-0 inside Fred G. Hughes Stadium Friday evening.

Missouri Southern (4-2-1) was led by midfielder Carina Calderon and forward Sarah Tatum who each had one shot opportunity in the match while the defense prevented the Bronchos from taking a single shot within the box.

UCO (7-0) registered a goal on a cross pass in the 21st minute of regulation and then followed up with another score off a corner kick in the second period.

Junior goalkeeper Luz Galindo made 11 saves and a couple diving blocks in 90 minutes between the posts.

The Lions are back in action on Sunday, Sept. 23 at 1:00 pm for their second meeting with Northeastern State to kick off conference play.
