The momentum carried over into the third where Southern scored the first five points of the second half to get to one point away and eventually regained the lead to go up 34-33 with 6:51 in the third. The Bronchos responded with back-to-back 3-pointers and a layup to kick start a 16-2 run and hold a 12-point advantage after three quarters of play.
Southern battled back to cut the lead to ten, but that would be as close as it would get to end the fourth quarter with UCO coming out with the 10-point win.
