Maryville, Mo. -- The Missouri Southern football team fell 63-0 today at number one ranked Northwest Missouri State on Mel Tjeerdsma Field inside Bearcat Stadium.
The Lions (0-4, 0-4 MIAA) were led by
Dante Vandeven who went 14-21 for 112 yards, while
Brandon Martin caught three passes for 24 yards and
Kene Anigbogu caught two passes for 32 yards.
Josiah Bennett caught two passes for 30 yards.
Defensively,
Alexander Wade,
Angelo Sumler and
Carter Rees had nine tackles each.
Roc Robbins and
Levi Marlay combined for a sack, while
Trevor Plafcan had six tackles and three quarterback hurries.
Northwest Missouri (4-0, 4-0 MIAA) held the Lions to just 112 yards of total offense in the game.
Northwest led 14-0 after one and 42-0 at the break.
The Lions will be back in action next week as Southern plays host to Nebraska-Kearney for homecoming. Kickoff from Fred G. Hughes Stadium inside the Robert W. Plaster Sports Complex is slated for 3 pm.
