Warrensburg, Mo. – The Missouri Southern Lions Women's Soccer team hung with the fourth ranked University of Central Missouri Jennies for the first 85 minutes before the Jennies used to late goals to win 3-0 Friday night at the Jennies Field at the South Rec.

Central Missouri (13-1, 7-1 MIAA) scored first in the 23rd minute off the foot of Courtney Killian from 10 yards out that just scraped over the outstretched hands of the Missouri Southern Lions' (3-9-2, 0-7-1 MIAA) freshman goalkeeper
Luz Galindo. Southern had a chance to tie the match at 1-1 in the 39th minute on a shot from sophomore
Jazzleen Wharry, but the shot from Wharry was saved by UCM goalie Ana Dilkes. In the half the Jennies out-shot Southern 12-3 and 6-2 in shots on goal.

After hanging tough with the fourth ranked Jennies, UCM added a second goal in the 86th minute off the foot of Megan Woolley from inside the box. The Jennies added another goal with five seconds remaining to make it 3-0.

Bailey North each tallied a shot for Southern. Galindo played all 90 minutes in the net for Southern and recorded eight saves against the three goals.

The Lions will be back in action on Sunday in St. Charles, Missouri against Lindenwood. Kickoff from Harlen C. Hunter Stadium is scheduled for 1 p.m.
