Fayetteville, Ark. -- The Missouri Southern women's cross country team finished sixth and senior
Emily Harris placed tenth as the Lions competed at the 28th annual Chile Pepper Festival today on the campus of the University of Arkansas.
Harris traversed the 5k course in a time of 17:45.32 to finish 10th amongst the non-DI runners.
Cynthia Torres and
Christian Provence placed 15th and 16th, respectively with times of 17:51.22 and 17:52.07.
Sierra Gray finished 78th in a time of 19:21.02, while
Shelby Jackson and
Sarah Usher placed 85th and 91st with times of 19:29.5 and 19:35.1.
Shelby Werner was 102nd in a time of 19:40.78.
Gabriel Hill placed 157th in a time of 20:27.02.
As a team, the Lions placed sixth overall with 204 points. Colorado State Pueblo won the team competition with 80 points, while Southwest Baptist was second with 90 points. Colorado Mines placed third, followed by Oklahoma City, Iowa Central, Southern, East Central, Trinity, Harding and Tarleton State to round out the top ten.
The Lions will be back in action next weekend traveling to Rolla to take part in the Jackling Jocks Invitational hosted by Missouri S&T.
