Deb Holcomb added 20 points with the rest of the team combining for 16 points against the Bulldogs. On the season, Jones is averaging 21.5 points and 6.0 rebounds while shooting 51 percent (25-for-49) from the field. She is also seventh in the MIAA in free throw percentage hitting 86.8 percent (33-for-38) from the line.
Series NotesLions lead the series 14-0. This will be the seventh straight season Southern and the Eagles have met during the month of November. Southern is 8-0 in meetings in November against Avila including a 6-0 record in Joplin. In Joplin the Lions are 10-0 against Avila and on the road Southern holds a 4-0 advantage over the Eagles. The most lopsided victory for the Lions came on Dec. 10, 1991 as Southern dispatched of the Eagles 113-61. The closest game in the series came on Nov. 22, 1998 as Southern eeked out a 65-58 win in Kansas City.
