Joplin, Mo. - The Missouri Southern Lions Soccer team fell 1-0 to the ninth ranked University of Central Missouri Jennies Thursday night at Hal Bodon Field.
The Jennies (10-1-0, 4-1-0 MIAA) scored the lone goal in the 22nd minute as Mikala Modiri scored her sixth goal of the season of the assist from Kayla Hamner. UCM out shot the Lions(2-9-0, 0-5-0 MIAA) 20-13 (10-6 shots on goal) in the 90 minutes with Central Missouri out shooting Southern 11-6 in the first 45 and 9-7 in the second half.

Carly Cecil, Thomas, and Hulse each had the remaining shots on goal for Southern.
Senior goalkeeper
Shawnee Phillips played all 90 minutes in the net as she came up with eight saves on the night while facing 20 shots from the Jennies.
Up next for the Lions will be a home match with the Lady Lions of Lindenwood University at 11 am on Saturday at Hal Bodon Field.
