Emporia, Kan. -- Seth Hackney took home the
title in the shot put, while Andrew Wright placed in the top 8 in
two different events as the Lions took part in the State Farm
Emporia State Relays today in Emporia.
Hackney won the shot with a distance of 51-01.50. Kyle Hancock
was third, while James Coleman was fourth. Andrew Wright placed
second in the 400 meters with a time of 50.64, while placing eighth
in the 200 meters.
DJ Bland was third in the 400, while D'Angelo Wood was 10th and
Jacob Khan was 11th. Khan was 15th in the 200 meters, while Maurlon
Bembry placed 22nd. Bembry was 13th in the 100 meters while Jerry
Jones placed 14th.
Kevin Wright was fourth in the 400 meter hurdles with a time of
55.51. Corey Shumate was second in the pole vault and was the top
d-2 athlete with a height of 15-03.00. DJ Dunmire placed fifth.
Corey Reynolds was third in the high jump with a height of six
feet, seven inches, while Chris Brown and Pat Hester placed 10th
and 11th, respectively.
Hester and Jones were 11th and 12th in the triple jump,
respectively, while Taylor McClelland and Jones placed 7th and
12th, respectively in the long jump. James Coleman was third in the
discus with a distance of 154-07, while Tyler Burgess and Hancock
placed third and sixth in the hammer throw.
The Lions will be back in action next weekend taking part in the
John McDonnell Invitational at the University of Arkansas.
