Prior to Southern - Nehls spent two years at Barton County Community College where she helped the team to a conference championship in 2011, as well as a pair of regional championships in both 2010 and 2011 ... The team made the national tournament in each of the two seasons she was there ... Nehls prepped at Riley County High School in Manhattan, Kan., where she was a two-year starter on the volleyball court as a setter for coach Katie Ball ... Also a standout on the basketball court, Nehls was a three year starter for coach Harold Oliver and the Falcons ... She was an All-Conference selection in both sports. 

Personal - Nehls is the daughter of Dave and Shawna Nehls ... She is a psychology major at Southern.
