Abolanle Onipede

Abolanle Onipede (Bondie for short) is in her third year as an assistant coach on the Missouri Southern volleyball staff. 

In two years, Onipede has helped the Lions post four All-MIAA performances including three in year two that saw Janelle Brehm, Alicia Pickett and Morgan Nash all earn All-MIAA honors. 

Onipede came to Southern after two years as a collegiate player at the University of Alabama. Prior to that she played two seasons at Blinn College, the second for current Lions' head coach Kalie Mader. 

At Alabama, Onipede appeared in 13 matches with three starts as a senior. She had seven kills against Cleveland State and Oral Roberts and posted a season-high nine kills against McNeese State. 

As a junior, she played in 18 matches with six starts for the Crimson Tide. She had a season-high ten kills and a .533 attack average against Auburn. 

At Blinn, Onipede helped the Bucs to a 31-12 record and finished the season ranked seventh. She was a first-team All-Conference and All-Region pick, while being named to the NJCAA All-Tournament Team. She finished the season ranked sixth in hitting percentage. 

As a freshman, Onipede helped the team to a 40-1 record and the NJCAA National Championship. She was the conference Player of the Week four times and was a first-team All-Conference and All-Region pick, while earning honors on the NJCAA All-Tournament team. She finished the season ranked tenth nationally in hitting percentage. 

Onipede prepped at John Foster Dulles High School in Houston.
