Prior to Southern
Matthews scored 1,100 points, grabbed 489 rebounds, made 124 steals, dished out 154 assists, and recorded 129 blocks. She earned All-Conference honors each year of high school, receiving honorable mention as a freshman, First Team as a sophomore, All-District First Team as a junior, and Player of the Year as a senior. Additionally, Matthews was recognized as an OGBCA and OCA All-State player, named to the Vype Top 100 three times, and earned multiple All-Tournament Team selections while surpassing 1,000 career points. Her teams achieved significant success, including Academic State Championships, 5A-4 District Championships, two Regional Championships, two Area Championships, and twice reached the State Semi-Finals.

Macee, daughter of Randy and Tiffany Matthews, is pursuing a degree at Southern.
