Prior to Volleyball: Rice will be in her first year on the volleyball court at Southern after a standout career for the Lions' women's basketball team ... A three-time All-MIAA performer on the basketball court for the Lions, Erin played in 108 career games at Southern while making 78 starts in her four-year career as a Lion ... She averaged 11.3 points per game, and finished her career with 1,220 points, placing her 9th all-time in program history in career scoring ... She never missed a game during her career and helped lead the Lions to a 37-21 mark at home in Leggett & Platt Athletic Center ... Rice prepped at Cole Camp High School where she was a three year starter on both the volleyball and basketball courts where she played for her father, Brian ... in volleyball, Rice was a two-time all-state and all-district pick and also helped her team to three consecutive district championships ... on the basketball court, she a three-time all-conference and two-time all-district performer and scored over 1,000 points in her career.
