Kailyn Strawbridge

Strawbridge joined Missouri Southern prior to the 2023-24 season as an Assistant Coach for the MSSU Women's Basketball team.

Strawbridge is coming from Principia High School near St. Louis where she served as an assistant coach to the girls basketball team. During her time there, Strawbridge helped establish a competitive culture while the program was rebuilding, helping the team to their first 10+ win season in 5 years. She was responsible for implementing defensive concepts, assigning player matchups, and guard skill development.

Prior to that, Strawbridge coached at Webster Groves High School for a season, helping the team to the 2022 State Final Four. In that time, Strawbridge assisted with the development of McDonald’s All-American nominees Eliza Maupin, played in all 36 games with the Kansas State women’s basketball team this season, and Ellie Paloucek, now a member of the Saint Louis University women’s soccer team.

Additional coaching experience comes from stints with Missouri Phenom and Loyola University Chicago. The Missouri Phenom is a premier girls basketball program and one of the select few chosen as an official NIKE EYBL program. Strawbridge was an assistant coach for the 16u EYBL and 16u EYC teams. She also spent two seasons as the student assistant for Loyola University Chicago after her playing career ended with the Ramblers due to a knee injury.

Her playing career with Loyola University Chicago took place during the 2017-18 and 2018-19 seasons, her freshman and sophomore years of eligibility. As a freshman, she started in all 26 games, averaging the team’s third most points per game with 8.0, led the team with 69 assists, and had the team’s top scoring output with 32 points against Fort Wayne.

Strawbridge hails from Rockford, Illinois where she had a decorated high school career at Rockford Lutheran High School, leading the team to back-to-back Big Northern Conference titles, as well as three consecutive regional crowns. She was a two-time All-BNC selection, a three-time Scholar-Athlete selection, and earned Third Team All-State honors following her junior year.
