In 2011: led the team in triples with three, sacrifice bunts with 14, and stolen bases with 20...was second on the squad with a .318 batting average, a career high for Volkmann...recorded 41 put outs and had four assists, most in the Lions' outfield.
In 2010: As a sophomore, hit .308 with a team leading 14 stolen bases in 54 games played. Also pitched in one game, allowing a hit and striking out one in one inning.
In 2009: Played in 57 of the Lions' 58 games, starting 55 of them. Led the team with a .284 batting average, 34 runs scored and three triples en route to being named honorable mention All-MIAA. She was also 12-14 stealing bases. On the mound, Volkmann made seven appearances starting five games. She finished with a 7.92 ERA.
In High School: Started three years for the Hornets where of N. Kansas City HS where she was a first team All-Conference, All-District and All-Metro selection ... A four-sport athlete at NKCHS, Volkmann lettered in basketball, volleyball and track, where she was a sectional qualifier on the 4x100m team.
Personal: a Health Promotions major with a minor in mangement at Southern...born September 18, 1989, in Kansas City, Mo...daughter of Ricky and Shelly Volkmann.
