Keyan Williams

Keyan Williams

Keyan Williams is in his second year on the coaching staff at Missouri Southern in 2022 and will be responsible for coaching the wide receivers for the Green and Gold.

Year one saw Brian Boyd Jr. etch his name into the MSSU record books and Jaedon Stoshak emerge as a growing threat to MIAA opposition. Boyd Jr. finished with 45 receptions for 811 yards and seven touchdowns on his way to All-MIAA honors. Stoshak had 34 receptions for 365 yards and three touchdowns. For Boyd Jr. he is now the only Lion besides Rod Smith to feature on the top-10 single-game list for receiving yards more than once and just barely missed out on the top-ten in career and single-season categories for the program.

Williams comes to the Lions from the University of Tulane where he helped the Green Wave offensive unit as a graduate assistant for one season.

Before Tulane, Williams coached at Wayne State College coaching the wide receivers where his Wildcats hauled in 141 receptions for 1,838 yards and 13 touchdowns.

Williams arrived at Wayne State after a collegiate career that saw him make stops at Ball State, Nebraska, and Fresno State.

As a senior in 2018 at Ball State, Williams appeared in six games as a reserve wide receiver and recorded six receptions for 23 yards. Williams spent the 2016 and 2017 seasons at Nebraska where he was an Academic All-Big 10 selection in 2017 while also named to the Nebraska Scholar Athlete Honor Roll in the spring of 2017 and 2018. Injuries limited his playing time at Nebraska, missing the first nine games of the 2017 season. He recorded a 19-yard catch vs. Iowa in the 2017 season finale. Williams began his collegiate career at Fresno State, redshirting in 2014 while playing in five games in 2015 with seven catches for 34 yards.

A native of New Orleans, Williams was a two time team captain in high school at Lusher High where he set school career records for total yards and total touchdowns. He was named to the 11-3A All-District Team as a junior and senior and was named Offensive MVP both seasons. His father Keith is a college football coach and played football at San Diego State.
