Jared Alton joined Missouri Southern in 2023 as the cornerbacks coach.
Spent the 2022 season at Wayne State (Neb.) where he was a graduate assistant coaching the defensive backs for the NSIC Champion and NCAA Division II playoff participant Wildcats. Coached J'Von France a first team All-NSIC South defensive back who had 12 passes defended with eight pass break ups and three interceptions with 41 tackles and 4.5 TFLs.
Alton played in head coach Atiba Bradley's first full season in charge of the Lions finishing with 11 games played and a start as a safety in 2021. Had 26 tackles, 1.5 TFLs, a fumble recovery, on quarterback hurry and a pass breakup. Prior to playing at Southern was at Iowa Western for two years while being at Missouri for two years after completing a prep career at Kirkwood High School where he was ranked at the No. 17th prospect in the state of Missouri by ESPN and Rivals and the third best corner in the state according to Scout.com.
A native of St. Louis, Mo., Alton graduated from Missouri Southern with a bachelor's degree in 2021.
