Bijan Hosseini is entering his third year on the coaching staff at Missouri Southern heading into 2023.
Year two at MSSU would see two offensive lineman earn All-MIAA honors in Lepopeasenuu Tito-Fualaau (3rd-team Guard) and Kenneth Ferhman (HM Tackle). As a unit they helped protect quarterbacks Dawson Herl and Luke Sampson along with providing running lanes for 2nd-team All-MIAA running back Nathan Glades. As an offense the Lions averaged 21.6 points, 16.0 first downs, 153.4 yards rushing, 167.1 yards passing and 320.5 yards of total offense a game.
Year one with the Lions saw the offensive line feature four underclassmen in the majority of the starting lineups. the right side was freshman while the left was where a sophomore duo retained starting spots. Labrentae Davis was the anchor in the middle and was an All-MIAA selection at center after helping the Lions to average 137.4 yards on the ground per game and helped keep freshman quarterback Dawson Herl off his back.
Hosseini comes to Southern after two seasons at Independence Community College where he served as the Offensive Line coach before becoming the Tight Ends and Recruiting Coordinator this past season.
Bijan began his college football career at Chaffey College in Rancho Cucamonga, California. He participated in 2 years of Junior College and went on to play Division 1 football for the University of Texas at El Paso. After graduating in 2019, he took his first coaching job as an assistant coach for Independence Community College under his former coach, Kiyoshi Harris.
While at Independence the offense ranked in the top-10 in the NJCAA and had a record of 5-2 in the 2021 season. Helped develop Nathan Damron into a first-team All-KJCCC and NJCAA All-American Tight End.
A native of Upland, California, Hosseini graduated from the University of Texas at El Paso with a bachelor's degree in 2019.
