Quentin McGrath

Quentin McGrath is in his second season working with the pitchers on the Missouri Southern baseball team.

In the past two seasons, two separate Lions have thrown no-hitters as Will Bausinger posted the 25th perfect game in NCAA Division II history in 2019 against Washburn and Zach Parish followed that up with a no-hitter against the University of Mary in 2020. Parish also became the MIAA's All-Time strikeout leader in 2020.

In 2019, the Lions set the school record for strikeouts by its pitching staff as the team fanned 558 batters in the season, finishing just five away from tying the MIAA single-season mark. Parish broke the individual single-season mark for strikeouts with 136.

A native of Southern California, he comes off a year of coaching in the high school ranks in California in 2018. In the summer of 2018, he was the pitching coach for the Derby Twins in the Jayhawk Collegiate League after coaching for the Long Beach Legends in the California Collegiate League in the summer of 2017.

In his playing days, McGrath spent two seasons as a pitcher at Golden West College in California. He finished up his final two years at Washburn University in Kansas. He earned a Bachelor of Arts in Psychology from Washburn in the spring of 2017.

McGrath is currently pursuing a Master of Science in Education from MSSU.
