In 2010: Hit .289 with two homers and 15 RBI in 53 games last year. Leads all returning Lions with a .404 on-base percentage. CJ was 7-10 stealing bases.

As a Junior:  Matthews redshirted last season due to a shoulder injury. 

As a sophomore: Batted .308 with 53 hits, ranking third in both categories for the Lions ... scored 28 times and drove in 12 runs ... finished second on the squad with 172 at-bats ... flashed speed by going 9-of-9 in stolen base attempts.

In junior college: Started two years at Crowder College ... was an all-academic and all-conference selection. In high school: Was a four-year starter for Green Forrest High school ... was a four-time all-district and all-state selection ... also was a three-year starter in baseball and football, while being a two-time all-state selection in football ... helped the football squad to a 12-1 record as a senior and the led the team in rushing for three seasons.
