Missouri Southern State University Athletics

Prior to Southern: Spent a semester at Missouri Valley playing football the Vikings before transfering to Southern in the spring of 2014. Graduated from Republic High School in 2013 where he earned four letters in track for Coach Forbis. Won the Missouri State Championship in high jump. Set RHS school record in high jump with a jump of 6-7.5 that broke the previous high mark of 6-6 that was set in 1977. Also tied the conference high jump record while winning the conference championship in long jump. In additon to his track accolades, Metscher also earned three letters in football where he earned second-team All-State honors as a defensive back/ wide receiver and played in an All-Star game.

Personal: The son of Kerry and Cheri Metscher, Garrett plans to major in criminal justice at Southern. Born February 27, 1995. Has an older brother Jake.
