JOPLIN, Mo. – Missouri Southern Athletics Hall of Famers Brandon Williams and Allen Barbre were featured on D2Football's All-Quarter Century Team compiled by website founder Brandon Misener.
 
Williams (DL, 2008-2012) was named to the First Team – Defense while Barbre (OL, 2003-2006) was tabbed to the Second Team – Offense.

D2Football.com founder Brandon Misener's All-Quarter Century Team is a comprehensive list of the most accomplished players who completed their D2 careers between the years of 2000 and 2025. The criteria used for player selection was a combination of talent evaluation along with career accomplishments. 
 
Brandon Williams
Williams, the 2012 BSN and D2football.com National Player of the Year, is still MSSU's leader in career sacks (27.0) and TFL's (49.5) while holding three of the top-five single-season sack totals in program history.
 
His first round of All-American honors came in 2010, being named first-team by Daktronics, D2football.com, and AFCA after collecting 9.0 sacks, 17.0 tackles-for-loss, 50 total tackles (23 solo), and a forced fumble. In 2011, Williams finished with 8.0 sacks, 16.0 tackles-for-loss, while having 35 total tackles (19 solo), five pass breakups, and three quarterback hurries. That performance earned him first-team All-American honors by D2football.com, AFCA and Don Hansen while being a second-team All-American by the AP and a third-team honoree by BSN.
 
To cap off his historic career wearing the Green and Gold, the 2012 season was special with Williams finishing with 8.5 sacks, 16.5 tackles-for-loss, 68 total tackles (31 solo), eight quarterback hurries, five forced fumbles, two pass breakups and recorded a safety. He was named the National Player of the Year by D2football.com and BSN, MIAA Defensive Player of the Year, earning first-team All-American honors by D2football.com, AFCA, BSN and the AP, and a second-team selection by Daktronics.
 
The only player selected to the Senior Bowl in Lions history; Williams was drafted in the Third Round of the 2013 NFL Draft with pick #94 by the Baltimore Ravens. With the Ravens, Williams played in 123 games from 2013-2021, getting the start in 114 of those contests. He finished with 323 total tackles (183 solo), 33.0 tackles-for-loss, 19 quarterback hits, 11 pass defended, 6.5 sacks, five fumble recoveries, two forced fumbles, and a defensive touchdown while earning Pro Bowl honors in 2018. In 2022, he signed with the eventual Super Bowl champion Kansas City Chiefs, appearing in five regular season games and all three playoff games.
 
Allen Barbre
Barbre was a consensus All-American, All-MIAA and All-Region first-team selection in 2006. He helped lead an offensive line that saw quarterback Adam Hinspeter become just the second passer in MSSU school history to throw for 2,000 yards twice in a career. The offense amassed 3,461 yards for the season, including 2,527 passing. He finished with a career-high 94 knockdowns at left tackle and also excelled on the punt coverage unit, coming up with seven solo tackles.

Barbre was Southern's first All-American since Josh Chapman in 2002, and was the first to be named first-team since Richard Jordan in 1996. He was the fifth offensive lineman at Southern to be named first-team All-American joining the likes of Terron Jackson (1972), Willie Williams (1976), Joel Tupper (1982) and Yancy McNight (1995). He was the ninth Lion at the time to be named first-team All-American.

For his career, Barbre started 33 of 37 contests. All but one of those starting assignments came at the demanding left tackle position. He was credited with 254 knockdown blocks and registered 10 tackles (nine solos) on special teams. He was the first player at the time from Southern to be invited to the NFL Combine.

Barbre also has a rushing touchdown to his credit as he was part of a memorable formation that saw the Lions line up with 11 offensive linemen in a goal line formation as Barbre ran in the ball for a touchdown just days after then Lions head coach John Ware tragically died during Homecoming week. The formation and play was done in honor of Ware who was a former offensive lineman and helped coach the group.

Barbre was drafted in the fourth round of the 2007 NFL Draft by the Green Bay Packers. He played for the Packers from 2007-2010. He then suited up for the Seattle Seahawks and the Miami Dolphins during the 2010 season and then was back with Seattle for the 2011-2013 seasons. During the 2013-16 seasons, Barbre played for the Philadelphia Eagles as the starting left guard. His last professional season was in 2017, playing in all 16 games at right tackle for the Denver Broncos.
