JOPLIN, Mo. – Missouri Southern Athletics will host a busy week at home as baseball and softball highlight the schedule, while men's golf competes at the MIAA Championships and track & field closes the week on the road. MSSU Football will host its 2026 Spring Game on Friday.
Baseball is set for four home games, beginning Tuesday against Newman before hosting Missouri Western for a three-game series Friday through Sunday, with Senior Day on Saturday.
Newman will serve as home team for the third game of the season series after the game two location was moved from Wichita, Kansas, to Joplin, Missouri. All four games this week will be at Warren Turner Field. Due to recent changes in field construction timelines, Joe Becker Stadium will not be available for the series opener with MWSU on Friday, April 17 and the game has shifted to Warren Turner Field. The Lions will honor the careers of Jason Lazo, Ethan Clark, Kyle Kaempf, Jacob Filip and Brayden Luikart ahead of Saturday, April 18's game as part of Senior Day 2026.
Softball will also be at home for four games, welcoming Central Missouri for a Friday doubleheader before hosting Rogers State on Saturday for a Senior Day doubleheader. The Lions will honor the careers of seniors Carsen Tinkler, Emma Mason, Taylor Nuckolls, Emily Perry, Katie Gray and Cady Dickey ahead of the Rogers State doubleheader for Senior Day 2026.
Men's golf will compete Monday through Wednesday at the MIAA Championships in Jefferson City, while track & field travels to Pittsburg State for a Saturday tune-up meet.
MSSU Football will host its 2026 Spring Game on Friday at 5 p.m., CT at Fred G. Hughes Stadium. Admission to the game is free. Following the game, the Lions will also host their fourth annual MSSU Football Alumni & Friends Golf Tournament on Saturday.
