KANSAS CITY, Mo. – Missouri Southern's
Bailey Dillon has been named the MIAA Player of the Week after leading the No. 11 Lions to a perfect 4-0 weekend in conference play.
Dillon turned in an exceptional performance at the plate, hitting .615 with a .692 slugging percentage and .688 on-base percentage. She totaled eight hits, five runs, a double, two RBI, and two stolen bases across the four games.
She opened the weekend with a 3-for-5 effort against Washburn, recording a double, an RBI, and two stolen bases in game one of the doubleheader. Dillon added another RBI and scored twice in the finale against the Ichabods.
She continued her hot streak at Emporia State, going 2-for-3 in the opener before a perfect 3-for-3 performance in game two, scoring in both contests against the Hornets.
With her strong showing on the road, Dillon extended her reached base streak to 20 consecutive games.
She is the second Lion this season to earn the MIAA Hitter of the Week award after
Katie Gray picked up the honors on Feb. 9.
The MIAA weekly honor is the first in Dillon's career at MSSU.
