Cole Posts PR, Finishes 10th in Pentathlon on Opening Day of MIAA Championships

PITTSBURG, Kan. – On the first day of the MIAA Conference Championship weekend at the Pittsburg State University, hosted inside the Robert W. Plaster Center, Claire Cole turned in a personal-best performance in the pentathlon.

Cole finished 10th overall with a PR total of 3,239 points. She opened the day with an eighth-place finish in the 60m hurdles, clocking 9.24 seconds for 860 points. In the high jump, she cleared 1.52 meters to place 12th and add 644 points.

She recorded a throw of 8.22 meters in the shot put (15th, 414 points) before bouncing back in the long jump with a ninth-place leap of 5.24 meters, earning 626 points. Cole closed out the pentathlon with a seventh-place finish in the 800m run, crossing in 2:29.82 for 695 points.

Her steady effort across all five events secured a top-10 conference finish and a new career-best mark to open the championship weekend.
