Missouri Southern spent much of the first half defending pressure after the Gorillas scored in the fourth minute, with Robshaw-Charlesworth making repeated saves to keep the Lions within reach through the opening stretch.
Robshaw-Charlesworth stopped shots in the 13th and 18th minutes during a sustained PSU spell, and MSSU also played through several fouls before Rose Harden's goal made it 2-0 in the 22nd minute.

Abbi Rosencutter added another chance in the 32nd minute that went left. Pittsburg State added a third goal in the 31st minute and continued to generate looks late in the first half, sending the Lions into halftime down 3-0.
MSSU conceded the half's only goal on Piper Hughes' penalty kick at 51:05, after Smith had already made two saves during PSU's early pressure.
The Lions created their best attacking stretch midway through the half, with
Sophie Spoonmore forcing a save in the 59th minute before Rosencutter's shot, two corner kicks and three Whitmire shots on goal from 66:02 to 69:20.
Smith kept Missouri Southern within the 4-0 scoreline shown through the late stages with additional saves, including stops in the 71st and 85th minutes.
Southern continued to push late with a
Chloe Kondracki shot on goal, a Whitmire attempt wide and an 82nd-minute corner, but Pittsburg State held the Lions off to finish the 4-0 result.
