ROLLA, Mo. — Missouri Southern volleyball opened its 2025 season with a split performance on Friday at the Bullman Multi-Purpose Building, highlighted by head coach Joshua Moore earning his first career victory in the Lions' opening match.
In the early contest, Missouri Southern (1-1) swept Northwestern Oklahoma State in dominant fashion, 3-0 (25-19, 25-21, 25-14), giving Moore his first win at the helm.
Later in the day, the Lions faced a tougher test against Minnesota State - Mankota and fell in straight sets (25-21, 25-17, 25-21). Despite the loss, Missouri Southern showed flashes of resilience, with Alana Moesch recording 11 kills and Hannah Allick adding 17 assists and eight digs. Ella Breazeale contributed a .429 hitting percentage, while Addysen Alvis added nine kills in a competitive effort.
Missouri Southern finished the day at 1-1 overall, with Coach Moore's first win serving as a strong foundation for the season ahead.
