Javelin Earns Two 1st Place Finishes and Sets Two Personal Bests at Miner Invitational

Rolla, Mo. - The Missouri Southern women's and men's Outdoor Track & Field teams opened their season today at the Miner Invitational at Missouri S&T in Rolla, MO, with standout performances from our javelin throwers.  They brought home two 1st place finishes, two personal best performances and all five who competed placed in the top five.
 
For the women, Keilee Johnson and Adrianne Casey kicked off the day with impressive performances, securing 1st and 3rd place finishes, respectively. Johnson achieved an NCAA Qualifying Mark of 46.67m, while Casey posted a strong throw of 39.55m.
 
For the men, Garrett Strange led the way, claiming 1st place with an impressive NCAA Qualifying Mark of 66.64m. Ethan Dias followed in 2nd, setting a personal best and earning an NCAA Qualifying Mark of 63.33m. Clifton Bridgewater rounded out the top three in 3rd, also recording a personal best and NCAA Qualifying Mark of 60.59m.

Up next: 
The Lions are hitting the road once again next weekend, March 28th–29th, as the team splits up to compete at several meets. The distance runners will head to the Wash U Distance Carnival, while the rest of the track and field teams will divide and travel to the ESU Relays and the Bearcat Invitational.
